Have you ever thought that it would be great to have a real estate portfolio big enough that you don’t have to work a 9-5 job? Well, those thoughts can become a reality if you put your mind to it. Mentality is the number one thing that will get you going or stand in your way. So, it’s time to open your mind up to the possibility of wanting something that can absolutely come true.

If you are passionate enough about investing in real estate, this should be something that you seek. Whew! What a list. The good news is, if you are interested in it, then someone else has probably already been there and done that. Start networking

You may not know this, but there are probably several real estate investors right in your community. If you start asking about them, they will magically come out of the woodwork. Offer to work for one of them, or offer up your expertise in a certain area and see if you can adopt one of them as your mentor. There are many different cities that host real estate investment MeetUps- attend one and see what you can learn and who you can meet. Once you start networking, your accountability becomes important and you want to follow up with these people. You can also network on Biggerpockets.com- it is the social network for real estate investors.

Make daily, easy and consistent goals

Goals are a huge part of our everyday success. Many people sit down and make checklists about the things that are to be done everyday. Goals should be just as important as that. If you think of it as backwards planning- coming up with your end goal, and then decide each day what you can do to get closer to that goal, it is a bit easier to digest. If you are doing something each day to get closer to your end goal, then before you know it, you will have reached it. So, be consistent. Do something each day to get closer to your real estate goal. How many deals did you analyze today? What team member did you add to your team today? Who did you network with today? These are all small steps to help reach your goals. Do something each day, or you may lose sight of your goal completely.

The main reason that real estate investors fail is because they stop trying.
